There are circumstances that you might need to sign a legal document in a country other than Australia, or send a legal document overseas from Australia. These types of documents must be notarised by a Notary Public.

Our principal Ms Lynn Hu is a Notary Public in Queensland, Australia who speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese, and Shanghainese. She provides a full range of Notary Services including:

Pre-Notarisation Document Checks

Certain documents, particularly those issued by academic or medical institutions, may require verification by the Notary Public before they can be notarised. This process ensures authenticity of the documents and compliance with the Queensland notary requirements. This verification process needs to be completed prior to your notary appointment and usually takes 3–5 business days.

We recommend submitting your documents to us for verification as early as possible to avoid delay of the notarisation you require.

Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Apostille & Authentication – Drop-Off Service

Many documents intended for use overseas require authentication or an apostille from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Australia (DFAT) after notarisation. This process confirms the authenticity of the signature, seal, or stamp of the Notary Public who signed on your document and is often required by foreign authorities or institutions.

We can facilitate the submission of notarised documents to DFAT for authentication and/or an apostille. You may leave the notarised documents with us after your notary appointment, and we will arrange their lodgement with DFAT. Once processed, the documents can be collected in person or returned to you by post. The DFAT process usually takes 3-5 business days, so we recommend allowing sufficient time if your documents are needed by a specific date.
